Registration is OPEN.  Practice locations will not be released until we confirm coaches and High school practice spaces.

Recreational Wrestling is for beginner to intermediate wrestlers ages 6 to 14 years old.  This is a semi-competitive environment with 2 weeknight practices.  Practices are usually an hour and a half long, full of basic to advanced skills. Our Head coaches meet once a week to determine fair match-ups within their teams.  Meets and tournaments are held on Saturdays from December through early February.  Howard County Recreational League is the largest Rec league in the state of Maryland. 

• Recreational League Teams
  • 6 to 14 years old
  • Beginner and Intermediate, semi-competitive
  • Practice 2 nights a week at area High schools in the wrestling rooms or Aux. Gym
  • TEAM OPTIONS: 
    • Atholton HS on M & W from 6:30-8pm
    • Glenelg HS (Red Team) on M & W from 6:30-8pm
    • Glenelg HS (Black Team) on T & Th from 6:30-8pm
    • Howard HS  on T & Th from 6:30-8pm
    • Oakland Mills HS on M & W from 6:30-8pm
  • 3 to 5 out of county teams across the state will also participate in our league
  • Season runs from - Nov 13-Feb 10
  • Meets/ tournaments are held on Saturdays at Gary J Arthur Community Center
  • Saturday Match Dates (Times TBD):  12/9, 12/16, 1/6, 1/13, 1/20, 1/27, 2/3, 2/10
  • All dates are Round Robin Format except for our two bracketed tournament dates:  (1/6 Holiday Tournament) and (2/10 End of the Year Tournament)
  • Picture Day is 1/20/2024

• Location:  Gary J. Arthur Community Center
• Each wrestler will have a 1.5hour to 2.5hour time slot in which their matches will be held.  This will be determined by weight and age.
• Schedule is usually released in November
